Resources

In this page, you’ll find some helpful resources/info that might help you out if you have problems or questions that deal with any of the media here… ^_^

.rar/.zip

i’ll only use these for albums/singles and stuff that needs to be zipped together…so some of you have trouble upzipping the files?? i use both WinZip and WinRar but i think that WinRar (i mostly use this) is better because it can extract .zip and .rar files…and you can also include foreign characters in .rar files…i don’t think you can with .zip…it comes out all wonky and stuff @_@…but yea, below you can DL either WinZip or WinRar so that you can unzip the files…just install them into your computer (don’t worry these are safe and free)…these are just trials i think but they shouldn’t disappear or anything after the trial’s up…it’ll probably ask if you wanna purchase it…and you can if you want to…hehe…but yea, for WinZip just wait till the “Use Evaluation Version” button shows up and just close that pop up if you use WinRar… ^_^

HJ Split

first off, this helpful tool can split/join HUGE files into smaller, easier to download files…hehe…for instance, if you have a file that’s 700 MB, you can use HJ Split to break up that file into smaller pieces like 100 MB…i’ll probably mostly split videos that are about that big like game/variety/music shows and such…well, here’s a quick tutorial i wrote up for those who haven’t used it yet… =D

Instructions on how to join files:

  • If you don’t already have HJ Split installed into your computer, then you can go HERE to download it…don’t worry, it’s safe and free!! =D
  • Once you’ve downloaded and installed that on your computer, open it up.
  • Now, be sure that when you download all parts of the file that:
  1. ALL the parts are named the same (i.e – if the filename is Star Golden Bell (2008-06-28).avi then the parts should be: Star Golden Bell (2008-06-28).avi.001, Star Golden Bell (2008-06-28).avi.002, Star Golden Bell (2008-06-28).avi.003, etc.)
  2. ALL the parts are in the same place (i.e – if you downloaded all of your parts on your desktop, make sure that all the parts are on your desktop…if you put them in a folder, make sure all of the parts are in that specific folder…etc.)
  • When you’ve done all that, you’re ready to start joining!! =D
  • With HJ Split open, click on the Join button.
  • A new purple box should pop up that says File Join…click on Input File and locate the first part of the file (.001) and then click it to open it.
  • It already states on the box that if the other files (.002, .003, etc.) are in the same directory, then they will be found automatically. So the file will save it to whereever you saved the parts. Also, if all the files aren’t named the same, then it won’t be able to join the whole file.
  • Once you’ve input your file, click on Start and the file should start joining…then just wait awhile for it to finish, depending on how big the original file is…you can close out HJ Split once it’s done.
  • HAPPY WATCHING!!! xD

if you have any more questions about this, feel free to ask and i’ll try to answer!!! ^_^

Clubbox Tutorials

from time to time, i may direct you guys to some Clubbox links…to either help out the person’s/group’s Clubbox or if the file is like REALLY huge or something…hehe…so yea, i know that Clubbox can be a beyatch and all complicated sometimes so here are some tutorials that i found online:

some of these links include FAQs and other tidbits and info about Clubbox and stuff…so please look through these if you have any questions/problems…some might be a little outdated (cause Clubbox updates a lot @_@) but it shouldn’t be that hard to figure out… =]

Codecs

since i can’t it explain well, you can read about codecs HERE…haha =P..but yea, it’s basically stuff you need to be able to play some video and audio files…if you guys are having trouble seeing/hearing the videos you download, then your player is probably missing some codecs that it needs to play them…below is a site recommendation (it’s FREE!!! =D) of codec packs that you can download if you have that trouble:

then just click on Download K-Lite Codec Pack and get the Basic pack…there are other codec packs if you want to download those if the Basic pack doesn’t work for you for some reason… ^_^

Media Players

here is a list of some media players that you can use for playing the different types of files…because depending on the extension of the filename (.avi, .mpg, .vob, .mkv, etc.), they can only play in certain players…these are the ones that i use:

of course, you should already have Windows Media Player in your computer if you like to play from that…but yea, feel free to tell me other players you guys use!!! ^_^
